Don’t Forget to Laugh

When was the last time you laughed?  Strange question you ask?  Not so.  As coaches we are so present for the ups and downs of our client’s lives that we sometimes forget to exercise the “humor muscle” – our ability to shift perspectives, laugh and BE a bit off-the-wall (with ourselves AND our clients).  What would be available for our clients if we asked some out-of-left-field questions in our coaching?

Some examples:  What would your living room lamp think about that? What does your thumb have to say about that? I want you to stand up and smile for one minute, no stopping, keep smiling!  Now what’s here?

Exercise

Notice the number of times you laugh this week.   Commit to bringing more humor in your day each day.  Come up with five “funny” powerful questions and see what shows up in the space for your clients as you “play” with them.  Oh, and don’t forget to have some fun while you complete this assignment!
