Hitting “Home Runs” With Your Clients

As coaches, can we expect to “hit a home run” in every client session? Without a doubt, we can. But first, we have to understand where “home base” is! How do we figure that out? After all, every session and every client is as unique as his or her thumbprint…

“Home base” is determined (no surprise) by the client. How you “hit the home run” is then up to you, the coach. So at the start of every session, before you leap into coaching, take the classic “What would you like coaching around today?” one step further by asking, “And what spells success for you at the end of our session today?”

This question’s on the ICF’s list of MCC benchmarks for a reason – it will help you score satisfied clients each and every time!
