Relationship Crossroads: Stay or Go or … ?

Heads up Relationship Coaches! Here’s a great resource for your couples clients.

For a couple whose relationship has reached a crossroads, the path forward rarely seems black and white. Should they pursue couples therapy? Separate? Divorce?

In the 1990’s, therapist Lee Raffel became frustrated with the limited options she had to offer. She developed “Controlled Separation” as a way to help couples make the best decision for both partners. In addition to using it with her own clients, she also published Should I Stay or Should I Go: How Controlled Separation (CS) Can Save Your Marriage in 1999. For numerous couples whose relationship has reached a tipping point, the structure and safety of CS has provided a viable path forward, compared with traditional options.
